Enabling children to put down roots and grow to be the best they can be

Manager's Welcome

I am proud to be the manager of this pre-school and welcome you to our  website.

2020 has so far been extremely challenging for all of us, but we are committed to ensuring your child continues to receive the highest level of care and teaching.  We will support you and your child through these immensely difficult times, and help prepare your child for the journey ahead.

Our pre-school has now been open for almost 30 years, beginning its origins in our local church hall.  Over the years we have grown and developed into the pre-school of today, welcoming families from our local community.

Our links with St. John's Church continue and we hold many of our special gatherings there under the care of the Parish Team.  We also work hard to ensure we have excellent links with our local infant schools and colleges in our area.

Our staff are committed to providing the very best care and learning environment for your child to begin their learning journey, which has been recognised in our latest Ofsted inspection (January 2017) having been rated "OUTSTANDING IN ALL AREAS".

We pride ourselves in the friendly, warm welcome you will receive and we work with you to meet the needs of your children. We are always available to offer help and support.

If you would like to know more about this wonderful pre-school, please call in and look around or contact me on 01924 407987.  Our door is always open.

We hope to see you soon

Here are some of the comments from our survey:

This school is perfect in every way for the children.

I'm very proud of my son, his English is good.

Engaging and supportive staff.

My child has made significant progress in all areas.

Feels happy and looks forward to attending nursery, enjoys playing in messy play which he didn't like before.

Everyone has been wonderful, very helpful and welcoming.

Thank you to all the staff for helping settle my son and make him feel at ease and confident.

We are so glad we chose this school.

To be honest, you have always gone above and beyond with all my children.

This nursery is the best in Dewsbury, thanks to all the staff.

I researched this school and had to go with this school. The staff are so genuine and warm.

The staff are professional and compassionate and have a good listening ear.

A big thank you to everyone at St John's Pre-school.
