World Book Day 2019

Challenge of the week:

Count in a sequence to ten or if your child is doing that, try counting to 20.

Challenge of the week:

To use knives, forks and spoons independently at mealtimes.

Feeding and independance skills

Challenge of the Week: Build a tower as tall as you can, out of anything in your house, for example cushions, tins, boxes etc. Send us pictures on Dojo so we can see whose tower is the tallest.

The Importance of Purposeful Play

Challenge of the Week: Children need to be able to put their coats on, zip them up and remove them independently.

Dressing/ Undressing Independently

Challenge of the week: To enable children to be school ready, they should be walking everywhere independently.

Getting Ready for School Sessions

 

Over the next few weeks, on a Monday morning from 9:00am-9:15am, and 12:30pm-12:45pm, we will be hosting a series of sessions in which parents are invited to stay and play and gain insight into play and learning experiences that prepare children for school. 

We plan to talk about a series of subjects such as;

Fine Motor skills/ Early writing

Dressing/ Undressing independently

The importance of purposeful play

Self-care and feeding independently

Numeracy skills

 

Each week we will set a simple challenge for children to complete, to enable them to become confident in the skills they will require when moving to school.
